Western society is about money and profitable gains and it does not matter who is involved. there is not anything wrong with success but to what extent does Western society goes to gain it. From what I have read or heard about the Aboriginals is that they have a honor to the land and only use what is needed for survival so much similar to the Native American Indian in the Western hemisphere. I do not know much more about the differences except when you talk of cultural differences and ethnic differences. |

The Western society is based on money capitalism wealth etc. which often results in fighting or exploiting. The Aboriginal society is based on nature and how to live without exploiting or hurting it even if it means inferior material wealth. |

The main difference in my opinion between the West and the Aboriginal people is that we have turned our back and the land and are only now seeing our earth with new eyes. The West tries to dominate its lands while the Aboriginals try to live with it. |

Nature's place within the family. In my family ( anglo-saxon New England ) nature brings calm and reflection but the appreciation and love for it is limited. I am from a city I think this detail is important! |

Western society tries to dominate - not tolerate and be peaceful |
Mitch from USA |
The Aboriginal people seem to be closely in touch with and have a more direct experience of the one place in nature where they live giving a special kind of knowledge. Western society allows people contact with a vast range of cultures and peoples but the contact is mostly at a distance so that the depth of the experience is much less. There are also many more distractions which keep Western people from relaxing into their sensible life. |
