The Federal Government is advertising nationally for organisations to provide legal and support services to Indigenous victims of family violence.

The Commonwealth has committed nearly $23 million over four years to double the number of such services around Australia, from 13 offices to 26.

It hopes the first unit will be operational by the end of March.

The units will be located in places such as Bourke in New South Wales, Palm Island in Queensland, Ceduna in South Australia and Port Hedland in Western Australia.
