The Western Australian State Government has handed almost three hectares of land, near the WA town of Cue, to its ancestral owners. The handover is the first move in a government plan to return control of 27 million hectares of crown land to its indigenous ancestral owners. The land will be progressively transferred from a trust being held by the WA Government. Today's handover, to the Thoo Thoo Warinha Aboriginal Corporation, includes the site of a hostel housing the corporation's administrative base and the town's original Aboriginal reserve. |
