Indigenous groups form national coalition

A coalition of Indigenous community groups has been established following the Federal Government's decision to abolish ATSIC. The move came at a national summit of Aboriginal leaders in Melbourne and is an attempt to forge a new political direction in Indigenous affairs. The new collective is made up of existing community-based groups that have a national representative base. |
